MAX LIVE
CONTACT 2001 ~Bitter 4 Sweet~ AVDD-90118 (Video) AVBD-91063 (DVD) Release date: 24th October 2001

MAX's live capture from their last 2001
concert on 2nd September in Tokyo International Forum. The songs they sang
in this concert basically covers on their album, EMOTIONAL HISTORY, and
what's surprising is there is no Eurobeat song at all. A new try, and
liked it a lot. The opening of the video shows some scenes before MAX
began their concert. This video consists of 21 songs. A nice opening song,
Just wanna lovin' you, where most Japan newspaper media headlines on MAX's
SM costume. There are quite some "add-ons" for this costume, as
you can see MAX adding/removing new jackets, hats, etc. until they change
the next costume when singing Love is Dreaming. And yes, the some songs
that MAX sang in this concert are re-mixed. Old favourites, such as Love
is Dreaming, Shinin' on - Shinin' love, Give me a shake, Ride on time are
re-mixed, and so are MAX's dance steps from some of this old favourites.
They performed the same Barairo no Hibi as the 2000 Kouhaku, covered R&B coupling songs such as Just wanna lovin' you, Wired and Bible X X. I love their costume where there are a kind of food representing each of them, a hamburger for Mina, a corned ice-cream for Reina, a cake for Nana and an ice-cream (or a jelly? It's a japanese food, and I don't know it's name in Japanese) for Lina. If you notice closely, Nana corn-rowed her side hairs and Reina tends to share her mike with male dancers. Oh yeah, the dancing crew for this concert are all male, and the personal dancing for each members get real short this time. I really love the way MAX danced with the crowd in So tight! Finally, after a long wait, I finally heard MAX sang mum!! MAX brought in their un-released song for the first time in the concert (at that time, moonlight is still un-released), moonlight. Apart from moonlight making its first appearance in the concert, But My Love a duet with Issa (lead singer from Da Pump) makes its debut too, as Issa came on the stage singing the BUT MY LOVE with MAX. SO REAL supposed be the last song for the concert, but the "ENCORE" (in Japan, it's pronounced as EN-KO-RE) from fans made MAX to sing another final song, Natsu yo Saite. A nice song to end a concert, and a nice performance from MAX. As always, MAX's concert are the best! The DVD also supports multi angle view in Lovin' All Night and Perfect Love. |

MAX LIVE
CONTACT 2000 ~No boundly~ AVDD-90081 (Video) AVBD-91022 (DVD) Release date: 27th September 2000
|
The capture of MAX LIVE CONTACT 2000 ~No
boundly~ on 11th June 2000 in Osaka (![]() First of all, Nana and Lina had more chance to sing solely comparing to previous concerts. They changed their singing routine so that each member of MAX has the opportunity to song. Apart from that, they also changed some of their dance steps of their old hits, such as Give me a Shake and Shinin' on - Shinin' love. When MAX performed POWDER SHADOW, artificial snow falling were added to increase the uniqueness of this concert. The non-stop euro-medley made their way back again in this concert, (as for those who watched MAX LIVE CONTACT 1998 will know about the medley session too) again. Although it is short, the special effects and the screen at the back of the stage showing MAX's animation made this medley more interesting. Of course, the dance session of the concert was also very eye catching, with each member of MAX with their dancers showing their dancing skills. (Mina's flying kiss when the others introduced her, and Nana's superb spin on the ground) Overall, a very nice concert to watch, although shorter than the previous concert, but with new stuffs in this concert makes ~No boundly~ the most unique concert ever. A thing to note, the DVD supports multi-angle view for 2 songs, MAGIC and Never gonna stop it. |

CONTACT 1999 "Sunny Holiday" AVVD-90061 (Video) AVBD-91028 (DVD) Release date: 10th November 1999 (Video) Release date: 27th September 2000 (DVD) 01.
Sunny Holiday |
The largest ever concert tour by MAX, a total of 53 performances in 44 places in
Japan, starting from 6th March to 19th August 1999. This
video is the capture of MAX LIVE CONTACT 1999 "Sunny Holiday"
last performance in Tokyo (![]() Of course, apart from the
songs from MAXIMUM GROOVE, they also sang songs from their singles, and
they changes the routines of song quite often in the whole tour. I think
they even sang Koisuru Velfarre Dance ( The response from the crowd are great, especially in encore. All of MAX are touched by the response from the crowd (identically like MAX LIVE CONTACT 1998), and Nana and co. started shedding hears when singing Person I need. Even in the MC part during the encore session, they couldn't stop shedding tears. Due to the tremendous encore response from the crowd, they sang Natsu yo Saite as the last song to end the concert (supposing, the MC should be the last event of the concert). A very touching concert, especially in the ending section. |

J-POP GIG
TOUR 1997 AVVD-90061 (Video) AVBD-91026 (DVD) Release date: 8th October 1997 (Video) Release date: 27th September 2000 (DVD) 01. GET MY LOVE! |
The first live video of MAX, J-Pop Gig Tour
1997, sponsored by Fresh Light. This is the first major concert of MAX, 12
performances in 10 location in Japan. This video capture of J-Pop Gig Tour
1997 on 25th August 1997 in Tokyo (![]() A very good performance by MAX, nice songs and superb dance movement. Their outfit was superb, especially the blue dress with a big cross on the back of the dress (kind of glow in the dark), and of course, their famous tiger stripe outfit. A short encore performance only, maybe due to their limited number of songs at that time. Mina was the first to cry in this concert, and the others too during their MC after they sang Seventies (Got touched by the response from fans, during Nana make her speech in the MC). Fans really throw quite a number of stuffs on stage during their encore performance (tennis ball??) and Lina picked up a Mickey and a Pluto soft toy thrown by their fans to the stage. Ever wonder why is the concert so short compare? The portion after EXTASY were cut off from this video clips, where MAX performed "The Supreme Medley", which consists of 5 English songs. The first song is "Stop in the name of love", the second song is a single from Lina, "My old piano". MAX changed their outfit from the blue dress to the red dress (you can notice it from the DVD/VCD booklet, where you can see all of them in red including Reina carrying a guitar) after their first supreme medley song. Next, is a Nana solo, singing "Baby Love" while Mina and Reina behind now act as background vocals. Then is Mina's turn, singing a powerful song, "You are everything", while it's Nana's turn to perform a short saxophone ending for Mina's song. The last solo is from Reina, where she sang "You can't hurry love" while playing the guitar. |
